About the role
About us FrankieOne is solving one of the largest problems in financial services, legacy identity infrastructure. Onboarding end-consumers for banks, crypto companies and telcos has historically been painful for everyone involved. It's a massive global problem, and FrankieOne exists to fix it. We're a VC-backed, product-led global fintech that has connected over 300 global identity and fraud providers into a single platform, delivering a unified API, a unified view, and one damn fine onboarding experience. Our infrastructure powers tier 1 banks, global BNPL players, the majority of neobanks in Australia, and some of the fastest-growing fintechs in the world. Today we operate in 46 countries and we're continuing to scale rapidly. We are an AI-first company This isn't a line we put in the ad to look current. Our engineering teams run Claude Code every day, we lean heavily into spec-driven development, and we build our own tooling and MCP servers so agents can reach the systems they need. We want someone who is genuinely excited about this shift, has opinions about where agents help and where they fall over, and wants to push how far we can take it. Who we are looking for We're looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our small, high-impact team. This isn't a role where you blend into the background. On a small team, everything you do is amplified. Banks and other security-conscious organisations trust us with sensitive data. The security, stability and reliability of our operations is paramount. You're comfortable owning a piece of work end to end, asking questions when the path isn't obvious, and making sensible calls without waiting to be told. You'll have a Lead who backs you, reviews your thinking and gives you room to grow. You're also happy to get your hands dirty. Wrangling Lambda functions, writing Terraform, and helping design and build infrastructure for major new service capabilities. You have At least 3 years building and running secure, highly available web applications and integration services in AWS. Hands-on experience with containerised services in AWS ECS, covering setup, security, management and monitoring. Solid working knowledge of Terraform. A good grasp of AWS networking fundamentals. Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar. Confident scripting in at least one of Python, TypeScript or Bash. Experience with observability and monitoring platforms. Comfort working in Linux environments day to day. Real experience using coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex on production work. AWS certifications highly regarded, for example DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect. Nice to haves Experience with spec-driven development. Experience building MCP servers or other agent tooling. Experience with autonomous sandboxed coding agents. Experience with Cloudflare. Experience with Kubernetes. An interest in platform engineering and developer experience. You will Own projects through to delivery, working closely with the DevSecOps Lead on scope and approach. Use agents heavily in your own work, and help the rest of engineering do the same by building the tooling, guardrails and patterns that make it safe. Work with team members and product owners to solve operational issues and build automation and improvements. Manage end-to-end deployment processes and maintain our CI/CD practices alongside the development team. Work with our security function on implementation and remediation, tightening controls, implementing policies and improving our security posture. Keep improving the service and technology stack. Work closely with the DevSecOps Lead, VP of Engineering and Head of Security. Participate in on-call rotation, one week in every six, remunerated. What success looks like First month: full induction. You'll understand the company culture, the product, the codebase and your team. You'll have all the tools you need, including your AI tooling set up the way you like it, and we'll aim to have you making your first meaningful contribution to production infrastructure inside two weeks. By 3 months: you've added your own stamp to the infrastructure. You're making real improvements to our infrastructure and security posture, working with less oversight and building trust with the team and wider stakeholders. By 6 months: you're delivering a significant piece of work from scoping through to production, spotting problems before they bite and bringing solutions to the team. You've found at least one thing an agent should be doing for us that isn't yet, and made it happen.

About the role
AWS is looking for a Security Engineer to join the Cloud Response team in Australia. The team manages the security and availability of AWS Cloud services. We operate on the "AWS" side of the Shared Responsibility Model to ensure "Security of the Cloud" and to protect our customers. This role requires engineers to work tactically with both internal and external stakeholders to solve security challenges at massive scale, and to think strategically to develop and implement changes to drive automation, scalability and continuous progress for the organization. Key job responsibilities A successful candidate will need a combination of troubleshooting, technical, and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle a mix of disparate tasks which may include projects in addition to managing incident response activities. This role will provide career growth opportunities as you gain new security skills in the course of your duties. Successful candidates will be expected to: Triage new incoming issues to determine the level of risk they present to AWS, and then accordingly prioritize its remediation in conjunction with the impacted service team. Communicate the state of these issues to various audiences, both technical and non-technical, at various levels of seniority (up to and including the AWS Chief Information Security Officer). Participate in efforts to promote security throughout the company and build good working relationships with partner security teams and service teams across Amazon Demonstrate high capacity for managing priorities appropriately while remaining productive and effective, with tolerance for context switching and interruptions Escalate issues early and often, expressing a high degree of security judgement when issues are not progressing at the correct pace based on impact to ensure we are putting customers first. Design and build automation that reduces manual toil in incident response, from triage to remediation tracking. Design agentic systems and frameworks that let AI reason over security context and take action safely within incident response. Explore and embrace the Amazon builder culture, identifying mechanisms and methods to improve tools and processes to simplify and drive issues at the scale and speed necessary to benefit our global team of engineers. Fulfill regular on-call responsibilities during the team's working hours and in support of the global team's on-call weekend rotation A day in the life This position supports AWS with security operations and incident response activities. You will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating security response activities for all AWS products and services. You will drive security related issues to resolution across numerous service teams and engineer scalable solutions to automate incident response activities. Each day, your team picks up the shift from the region that worked before you, starting by reviewing what's open and setting priorities for the day, before handing the shift on to the next region at the end of the day. You'll drive response on the issues you pick up, digging in until you understand the real risk rather than settling for the first plausible read, and when a decision carries real weight, you'll walk it through with your manager before committing to a path. You'll write clearly and precisely as you go, since the next person picking up an issue is relying entirely on what you left behind. Alongside the daily grind, you'll also be chipping away at your own project work, whether that's building a tool to cut down on manual toil or automating a piece of the incident response process that used to take up half your day. Shifts are aligned to the US Pacific time (PST/PDT, accounting for daylight savings across summer and winter). About the team Cloud Response is a team inside AWS Security Operations. This team is broadly responsible for the 'AWS' side of the Shared Responsibility Model, and provides oversight of security issues from their identification through to resolution. Cloud Response operates follow-the-sun with teams based around four different geographical locations. We work with AWS security and service teams to ensure security issues are addressed and resolved with the right level of urgency, while keeping our key stakeholders informed and engaged as necessary throughout the issue lifecycle. We also optimize our own operations by building tools and automation that let the team scale response capacity faster than incident volume grows. We don't settle for a surface-level read on a security issue. We dig in until we understand the real risk, bring the right security expertise to the table, and partner with service teams to land on a clear path to resolution, whether that's a quick fix or a longer-term remediation. As our understanding of a class of issue matures, we push ownership back to the service teams best placed to own it long-term, while staying closely engaged wherever ambiguity remains. The team is in the middle of a significant transformation, rebuilding how we work around AI and agentic frameworks that reason over security context and take action alongside our engineers. This is reshaping what the job looks like day to day, and there's real room to shape that direction rather than just adopt it. - 3 years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent - Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP - 2 years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience - Experience with AWS products and services - Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++ - Experience building or working with AI/LLM-based agents, automation frameworks, or applying AI to security and operational workflows Acknowledgement of country: In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. You won't be inheriting someone else's design choices. You'll be making them. Your Role - The Guardian of AWS Physical Infrastructure Imagine being the first line of defence for some of the most critical cloud infrastructure on the planet. As an AWS Incident Response Team (IRT) Analyst within the Physical Security Operations Centre (PSOC), you'll be the vigilant eyes and decisive mind protecting the physical backbone of services that hundreds of thousands of businesses across 190 countries depend on every single day. This isn't passive monitoring - this is active, intelligent security operations where your judgment directly safeguards national security assets. You'll respond to physical security events in real time, coordinate contracted guard forces, administer access control systems, and gather intelligence that keeps our people, operations, and infrastructure safe across the region. Every shift brings new challenges. Every decision you make matters. And every improvement you identify raises the security bar for an organisation that refuses to stand still. Why This Team, Why Now? You're joining a developing team of physical security professionals who are building something extraordinary. The PSOC is where operational excellence meets national purpose - where your customer service instincts, your communication skills, and your security expertise converge to protect what matters most. Whether your background is in security operations centres, dispatch, military, or law enforcement, your experience has prepared you for this moment. This is where careers accelerate, where diverse paths are celebrated, and where the appetite to continuously improve isn't just welcomed - it's essential. Benefits Learning & Development AWS training and certification support, access to internal learning platforms. Health, Income Protection & Life Cover Amazon subsidises private health insurance premiums, and group salary continuance and life insurance are included at no cost to you. Military Differential Pay Australian employees taking defence reserve leave may receive up to 52 weeks of military differential pay to help cover the difference in pay while serving. Employee Assistance Program Free, confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for you and your family - mental health, financial coaching, legal questions, and everyday life events. Family-Building Benefit Access to Maven for fertility treatment, adoption support, surrogacy, and parenting coaching. Amazon Extras & Employee Discount Cashback and discounts across hundreds of retail, fitness, travel, and lifestyle partners. Key job responsibilities You'll be the operational heartbeat of the AWS Physical Security Operations Centre - the person who turns protocols into protection and intelligence into action. Protecting Critical Infrastructure in Real Time Your core mission is incident response. When physical security events threaten AWS infrastructure, associates, or operations, you're the one who assesses, escalates, and resolves. You'll monitor physical access control systems with precision, administer access permissions, and ensure only authorised personnel move through our most sensitive spaces. The Security Ecosystem You'll oversee contracted guard forces across the region, ensuring they operate to AWS standards. Your intelligence gathering will feed directly into program-wide notifications that keep teams informed and prepared. When something changes in the threat landscape, you'll be the one connecting the dots and distributing critical information. Building the Playbook You won't just follow Standard Operating Procedures - you'll develop them. Your frontline experience will shape how the PSOC operates, creating frameworks that future team members will rely on to protect AWS assets. Keeping Operations Moving From triaging trouble tickets to managing internal and external communications, you'll be the connective tissue between security operations and the broader AWS organisation. You'll handle incoming queries with professionalism, provide technical support to internal stakeholders, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Every interaction is an opportunity to demonstrate the customer obsession that defines Amazon - and every process you improve raises the bar for the entire program. At a Glance - Core Responsibilities - Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) - Physical access control administration - Monitor physical security systems - Monitor and coordinate a contracted guard force - Incident response - assess, escalate, and resolve physical security events - Intelligence gathering and distributing program-wide notifications - Manage internal and external email and phone communications - Triage trouble tickets and handle incoming queries - Provide technical support to internal stakeholders A day in the life Your day begins with a handover that immediately puts you in the picture - active incidents, ongoing monitoring priorities, and intelligence updates from the previous shift. You settle into the PSOC knowing that today, like every day, your vigilance protects critical national infrastructure. Morning: Eyes On, Systems Active You scan physical access control systems, reviewing overnight access logs and flagging anomalies. A contractor's badge triggers an alert - you verify credentials, cross-reference the access request, and resolve it within minutes. Seamless. You check in with the contracted guard force at multiple sites, confirming shift coverage and addressing a scheduling gap before it becomes a vulnerability. Midday: Intelligence and Communication An intelligence report lands requiring your analysis. You assess the relevance to AWS operations, draft a program-wide notification, and distribute it to stakeholders who need to act. Between intelligence tasks, you're managing the inbox - responding to access requests, fielding queries from internal teams, and updating trouble tickets with precision. Afternoon: Incident Response in Action An alarm triggers. Your training kicks in - you follow established procedures, coordinate with on-site security, gather information rapidly, and document everything in real time. The incident resolves cleanly because you were prepared, decisive, and thorough. You update the incident report and identify a process improvement that could shave minutes off future response times. End of Shift: Raising the Bar Before handover, you draft a recommendation for a new SOP based on today's observations. You brief the incoming team with clarity and confidence, knowing that your contributions today made the operation stronger than yesterday. Lead Platform Engineer - AWS
The Onset ¡ Posted 11 days ago
About the role
Job Description Senior Platform Engineer, Sydney, 3 days in office, up to $190,000 super You probably donât need another Platform Engineering job. If youâre already running AWS at scale, building Terraform modules and getting pulled into the difficult production incidents, moving somewhere else to do more of the same is not much of a reason to leave. This role is different because there is still meaningful platform engineering left to do. Youâll join a dedicated product engineering environment with the scale, investment and technical standards of a large global organisation, without disappearing into a huge infrastructure function where every decision has already been made. What youâll actually own Youâll help shape the engineering foundations that product teams build on. That includes: Multi-region AWS across Lambda, Aurora RDS, VPC, ALB, Route53, IAM and KMS Reusable Terraform/Terragrunt modules used across customer environments Reliability engineering against a 99.98% SLO Observability, incident response and production health Secure cloud networking, including Transit Gateway and Network Firewall CI/CD across GitHub Actions and Bitbucket Pipelines Puppet, Hiera and configuration management at scale The expectation is not that you simply operate what already exists. Youâll lead ambiguous infrastructure problems, improve the standards other teams build against and help decide what the next version of the platform should look like. This is platform engineering, not ticket ops The goal is to make developers faster without making production less safe. That means building repeatable infrastructure, better deployment paths, stronger guardrails and tooling that removes manual work rather than creating another queue for engineers to wait in. When something foundational needs to change, youâll be one of the people deciding how it should work. Thereâs also room to push into AI-assisted engineering The team is already exploring Claude, GitHub Copilot and agent-based workflows for platform and DevOps engineering. That includes custom instructions, tool-calling schemas and autonomous tooling, rather than simply handing engineers another chat interface. Who this suits Youâre likely already a Senior Platform, DevOps, Cloud or SRE Engineer. You know AWS deeply, have built reusable infrastructure rather than just consumed it, and can move comfortably across Linux, networking, CI/CD, security, Python or Bash and production troubleshooting. Youâre also the sort of engineer people involve when a problem crosses multiple systems and there isnât an obvious answer. Why consider leaving a good job? Because mature platform roles can eventually become maintenance jobs. The architecture is decided. The hard problems have been solved. Your job becomes keeping everything moving. This one still has important platform decisions left to make. Youâll get enough scale and complexity to make the engineering interesting, while still having enough influence to change how the platform is built. If youâre already doing this kind of work somewhere else and werenât planning on moving, thatâs exactly who weâd like to speak to.

About the role
Platform Engineer 12 Month Fixed Term Contract | Up to $170k Super | Sydney CBD (2 days in office) We're partnering with a well-established healthcare organisation embarking on a significant technology transformation. As part of a broader platform modernisation initiative, they're rebuilding key components of their cloud platform and are looking for a Platform Engineer to help shape the next generation of their AWS environment. This is an opportunity to join a highly capable engineering team working on greenfield and modernisation projects, building scalable, serverless cloud infrastructure that underpins critical healthcare services. You'll play a hands-on role in designing, building and automating cloud infrastructure, improving developer experience and helping establish best practices across platform engineering and DevOps. What you'll be doing You'll be building and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure across AWS, leveraging Infrastructure as Code to deliver secure, scalable and highly available platforms. A large part of the role will involve working with serverless technologies, supporting application teams and helping drive automation across the software delivery lifecycle. You'll collaborate closely with software engineers, architects and security teams to deliver platform capabilities that enable rapid and reliable product delivery while maintaining operational excellence. What we're looking for We're keen to speak with Platform Engineers who have strong AWS experience and enjoy solving infrastructure and automation challenges. You'll ideally bring experience with: Strong AWS platform engineering experience. Terraform and Infrastructure as Code. Serverless AWS services including Lambda and API Gateway. AWS networking and core services such as IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch and ECS. CI/CD tooling and deployment automation. Building and supporting cloud platforms in modern engineering environments. Scripting or development experience with Python, Bash or similar. Experience working within DevOps or Platform Engineering teams. Exposure to healthcare, regulated environments or security-first engineering practices would be beneficial but isn't essential. Why this role? This is a chance to work on a genuine platform rebuild rather than simply BAU support. You'll have the opportunity to influence architecture decisions, work with modern AWS technologies and contribute to a platform that directly supports critical healthcare services. What's on offer: 12 month fixed term contract. Up to $170,000 super. Sydney CBD location with two days per week in the office. Modern AWS and serverless technology stack. Large-scale platform transformation programme. Collaborative engineering culture with plenty of autonomy.
