Data Analyst » Sydney, Sydney Region - Data Analyst Sydney (in-office) Salary super Scale-up business - expanding in the next 12 months You've spent your career in data - SQL, Power BI, APIs, automation. Somewhere along the way, you probably picked up some finance related responsibilites - forecasting, reporting cycles, budget cycles - but that's never been the job. The job has been fixing what's broken, building what's missing, and making the numbers usable. In most roles, that's exactly where it stops. You build the dashboard, automate the report, and it gets absorbed into someone else's BAU. Nobody hands you the mandate to actually own how the business captures and reports on its data end to end. This role changes that. About the business: We are exclusively partnered with a fast-scaling company undergoing a major capital expansion. As volume scales over the next 12 months, the business needs financial and commercial decision support that's backed by data systems robust enough to scale with it. This isn't a role for someone who wants a settled, steady-state environment. What your new role looks like: Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll take full ownership of the organisation's transition to a single source of truth, designing how data is captured, stored and reported across the business, and building the Power BI reporting suite from the ground up. You'll work closely with an in-house software developer building the company's ERP, translating operational and financial data into dashboards and reports that senior leadership can use. This isn't a role where you're handed a fixed remit and told to stay in your lane. You'll move fluidly between BAU FP&A (forecasting, EOW/EOM reporting, commercial analysis) and the more technical, exploratory work of automating it all away - with real ownership over how the future state of reporting looks. What's different about this role: This role gives you commercial exposure at CFO level while keeping you hands-on with the systems and data underneath it, with genuine license to experiment, automate and reshape how the business reports on itself. About you: You have: Strong SQL skills (SQL Server Management Studio) and confidence writing your own DAX Experience building Power BI dashboards and reporting models from scratch Working knowledge of Power Platform (Power Automate) and PowerShell scripting API experience (REST/GraphQL) and an understanding of how data gateways work Comfort working with large datasets - ideally from an FMCG or large organisation background It is beneficial to have had experience in an FP&A, financial analysis or commercial finance role Strong commercial acumen and the confidence to translate complex data for non-finance stakeholders Ready for a role where you build the system, not just work around it? Apply now or reach out for a confidential conversation. • Mon, 14 SepAmbition Group

Bookkeeper » Melbourne, Melbourne Region - Melbourne CBD / Hybrid Part-time, 2 to 3 days per week Fully remote considered for the right person There are bookkeeping roles where you're handed a pile of transactions and told to work through them. This isn't one of those roles. Our client is a growing Australian technology business that needs an experienced Bookkeeper who can come in, understand how the finance function operates, take ownership of the detail and simply make sure things are done properly. The role sits close to the CFO and covers the financial rhythm of the business from payroll and reconciliations through to BAS, PAYG, payroll tax, month-end, reporting, budgeting and forecasting. It's hands-on, but it isn't junior. You'll need to be someone who can look at the numbers, spot when something doesn't quite add up, investigate it and keep things moving without waiting to be told what to do next. The shape of the role This is a genuine part-time opportunity, likely around 2 to 3 days per week. Some weeks may be a little heavier around month-end, projects or other busy periods, so there is flexibility around how the role is structured. The business is based in Melbourne CBD and would ideally love someone who can work in a hybrid way and spend some time with the team. But they also know the right Bookkeeper may not be sitting five kilometres from the office. For someone who is experienced, reliable and genuinely self-sufficient, they are open to fully remote. What you'll own You'll work closely with the CFO and take responsibility for the day-to-day finance operations of the business. That includes: Managing bookkeeping and maintaining accurate records in Xero Payroll processing and payroll reconciliations Superannuation and Single Touch Payroll BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement PAYG and payroll tax Bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations Accounts payable and supplier payments Accounts receivable, invoicing and collections Supporting an accurate and timely month-end close Maintaining the general ledger and making sure transactions are correctly recorded Preparing management reporting Supporting cash flow reporting and planning Assisting with budgeting and forecasting Preparing budget-to-actual and variance reporting Supporting finance projects as they arise Helping improve processes, controls and automation as the business grows The role builds on an existing finance operations remit that already includes payroll, statutory compliance, Xero, reconciliations, reporting and process improvement. The person we're hoping to find You've probably been doing this long enough that you don't need a checklist for every month-end. You know what needs to happen, when it needs to happen and what good looks like. You're comfortable working across payroll, BAS, GST, PAYG, payroll tax and reconciliations, and you're equally happy getting into the detail as you are preparing information for a CFO. You'll ideally bring: Strong hands-on bookkeeping experience within an Australian business Excellent Xero experience Strong Australian payroll knowledge Confidence across BAS, GST, PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and STP Experience managing month-end reconciliations and supporting close Confidence across AP and AR Experience preparing management reports Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and cash flow Strong attention to detail Good judgement and problem-solving ability The confidence to work independently and take ownership of your work Full Australian working rights Experience within technology, SaaS, professional services or another growing SME environment would be useful, but it isn't essential. Why this one is worth a look The flexibility is genuine. So is the responsibility. You're not being brought in to sit quietly in the background processing invoices. You'll be trusted to own the work, partner closely with the CFO and help keep the financial foundations of the business strong as it continues to grow. For someone who wants meaningful part-time work, plenty of autonomy and a role where experience is genuinely valued, this could be a really good fit. • Wed, 02 SepKindtide
