Dta contractors Pty Ltd- Civil Plant Operator; Civil labourer, Earthmoving Plant Operator » Northern Territory, Australia - Position Title Civil Plant Operator Job Type: Full-time Salary : $75,000 – $85,000 per year Reports To Supervisor / Project Manager Purpose of the Position Working with a range of civil construction plant and applying a broad range of skills in a varied civil work context to meet client contractual requirements. Work may include excavations, sea walls, roading, waste cells, subdivision, & sewer line work and may include some manual work. Key Responsibilities • Reading and signing plant risk assessments & conducting daily plant prestart inspections for plant you use. • Reporting faults and damage as it occurs or when it is identified to your supervisor, • Operate machinery, including construction vehicles as per operation requirements. • Working from specifications, instructions, and drawings. • Communicate (including positive comms) with supervisor, other plant users and ground staff as required during work activity. • Stopping machine activity and requesting instruction from supervisor if identifying risks or hazards in your plant work zone. • Not to use plant or equipment that you know is faulty and or has critical safety issues. • Selecting, fitting, using, and removing any attachments as required for work. • Monitoring dashboard controls to ensure machinery is operating correctly. • Participate in site H&S activities including inspections, hazard and risk processes, site emergency drills, audits and other activity as identified by the company, • Conducting company and site-specific inductions, internal/external training where required, • Adhere to and support all site environmental controls, plans. • Participant in the use of spill kits, SDS and responses where applicable • Other work as directed by your Supervisor. Other Responsibilities • Listen and understand instructions and conduct works in accordance with instructions. • Performing tasks safely and efficiently. • Speak to Supervisor if you do not understand an instruction or have any concerns. • Report incidents immediately to Site Supervisor in accordance with incident reporting procedures • Not be under the influence of drugs and or alcohol Required Licences / Skills and Knowledge • Be able to demonstrate experience in various aspects of Civil Construction work • Possess good time management skills and the ability to work well within a team. • Completed the relevant VOC’s and licences (as applicable) • An absolute commitment to safety practices • Minimum C driver licence, Preferred HR • Construction Safety white card (or equivalent), Personal Attributes • Meet DTA Contractors Code of Conduct • Be punctual & courteous. • Must be willing to work most Saturdays. • Good communication skills • Ability to work in a hot / humid environment. • The recruitment process may include candidates completing a pre-employment health declaration, undergo a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing. 2. Civil labourer Salary : $74,000 – $76,000 per year Job Type: Full-time Key Responsibilities Site Prep: Clear trees, scrub, topsoil, and debris. Set up safety signs, traffic cones, and fences. Earthworks: Dig trenches, grade soil or gravel, and backfill holes. Concrete & Paving: Mix, pour, spread, and level concrete, asphalt, or road base. Infrastructure Support: Assist with laying stormwater, sewer, or subsoil drainage pipes. Tool Operation: Use hand and power tools like jackhammers, compactors, and saws safely. Site Clean-Up: Remove waste and keep the work zone tidy and safe. Requirements & Qualifications Safety Ticket: Valid General Construction Induction Card (White Card). Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy loads, stand for long hours, and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Licensing: Standard driver’s licence; HR or machinery tickets (excavator, roller) are a plus. Reliability: Punctual, strong work ethic, and able to take direction from site supervisor 3.EARTHMOVING PLANT OPERATOR: Salary : $82,000 – $85,000 per year Role Overview Job Title: Earthmoving Plant Operator Industry: Civil Construction, Mining, or Infrastructure Job Type: Full-time Key Duties and Tasks Run heavy machines to dig, break, level, and move dirt and rock. Put on and take off special tool parts like buckets, blades, and hammers. Do safety checks before starting work every day. Clean, grease, refuel, and fix small problems on the machines. Read site plans or listen to instructions to know where to work. Watch out for other workers and keep the work zone safe. Skills and Qualifications Valid high-risk work licenses or plant tickets (such as for an excavator, bulldozer, or loader). Good physical fitness and hand-eye coordination.
