Experience within residential construction, building or a trades-based business would be highly regarded—particularly if you understand job costing, purchase orders and subcontractor payments. The business uses Databuild, Onsite Companion, EzyScan and Therefore. Experience with these systems would be an advantage, but it is not essential if you are confident with accounting software and learn new systems quickly. The role is based in the Eagle Farm office and offers a minimum of 30 hours per week, with the option to work a full week. The hours are flexible—we would rather find the right person and build the schedule around them. You can join the business as an employee or work as an independent contractor with your own ABN. If this sounds like you, I would like to chat. Call Kirsten Keenan on 0404 778 210 or apply with your resume, preferred working arrangement, availability and salary or hourly-rate expectations. As with all our roles, you must have full Australian working rights. No student or temporary visas, thank you. This isn't one of those roles. Our client is a growing Australian technology business that needs an experienced Bookkeeper who can come in, understand how the finance function operates, take ownership of the detail and simply make sure things are done properly. The role sits close to the CFO and covers the financial rhythm of the business from payroll and reconciliations through to BAS, PAYG, payroll tax, month-end, reporting, budgeting and forecasting. It's hands-on, but it isn't junior. You'll need to be someone who can look at the numbers, spot when something doesn't quite add up, investigate it and keep things moving without waiting to be told what to do next. The shape of the role This is a genuine part-time opportunity, likely around 2 to 3 days per week. Some weeks may be a little heavier around month-end, projects or other busy periods, so there is flexibility around how the role is structured. The business is based in Melbourne CBD and would ideally love someone who can work in a hybrid way and spend some time with the team. But they also know the right Bookkeeper may not be sitting five kilometres from the office. For someone who is experienced, reliable and genuinely self-sufficient, they are open to fully remote. What you'll own You'll work closely with the CFO and take responsibility for the day-to-day finance operations of the business. That includes: Managing bookkeeping and maintaining accurate records in Xero Payroll processing and payroll reconciliations Superannuation and Single Touch Payroll BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement PAYG and payroll tax Bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations Accounts payable and supplier payments Accounts receivable, invoicing and collections Supporting an accurate and timely month-end close Maintaining the general ledger and making sure transactions are correctly recorded Preparing management reporting Supporting cash flow reporting and planning Assisting with budgeting and forecasting Preparing budget-to-actual and variance reporting Supporting finance projects as they arise Helping improve processes, controls and automation as the business grows The role builds on an existing finance operations remit that already includes payroll, statutory compliance, Xero, reconciliations, reporting and process improvement. The person we're hoping to find You've probably been doing this long enough that you don't need a checklist for every month-end. You know what needs to happen, when it needs to happen and what good looks like. You're comfortable working across payroll, BAS, GST, PAYG, payroll tax and reconciliations, and you're equally happy getting into the detail as you are preparing information for a CFO. You'll ideally bring: Strong hands-on bookkeeping experience within an Australian business Excellent Xero experience Strong Australian payroll knowledge Confidence across BAS, GST, PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and STP Experience managing month-end reconciliations and supporting close Confidence across AP and AR Experience preparing management reports Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and cash flow Strong attention to detail Good judgement and problem-solving ability The confidence to work independently and take ownership of your work Full Australian working rights Experience within technology, SaaS, professional services or another growing SME environment would be useful, but it isn't essential. Why this one is worth a look The flexibility is genuine. So is the responsibility. You're not being brought in to sit quietly in the background processing invoices. You'll be trusted to own the work, partner closely with the CFO and help keep the financial foundations of the business strong as it continues to grow. For someone who wants meaningful part-time work, plenty of autonomy and a role where experience is genuinely valued, this could be a really good fit. • Wed, 02 Sep • Kindtide | Partner - Bookkeeping & CFO Services » St Leonards, Willoughby Area - Description Hi there, thanks for stopping by.
