(pro rata) plus Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice benefits – MD2G Temporary Part-Time – 18.75 hours per week, up to 12 January 2028 About the Role: Lyell McEwin Hospital is a busy, community-focused public hospital serving the growing northern Adelaide community. Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is seeking an experienced medical Consultant to join a collaborative clinical team committed to delivering high-quality care to one of South Australia's most diverse populations. The Role This is a part-time, fixed-term position through to 12 January 2028, based at Lyell McEwin Health Service within NALHN. You will step into an established clinical caseload and contribute meaningfully from the outset. Deliver specialist consultant-level clinical care aligned with departmental scope and NALHN service standards Provide clinical supervision and support to junior medical officers, registrars, and multidisciplinary team members Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance, and safe patient outcomes Engage with NALHN's patient-centred care frameworks and maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with SA Health policy What You Bring Fellowship with the relevant specialist college recognised by the Medical Board of Australia A strong interest and expertise in Neurophysiology with particular emphasis on nerve conduction studies/EMG Current registration with AHPRA with no conditions that would restrict practice in the public health setting Demonstrated experience working within a comparable public hospital or health network environment Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care Familiarity with SA Health clinical standards, credentialling processes, and public sector accountability frameworks Capacity to manage a part-time clinical workload independently while integrating effectively with an established team As per the SA Health Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement 2025, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12 month allocation as Medical Practitioner will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities. To be eligible for this position, you must have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent and appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award. The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate. About You: In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.
