We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join the Artificial Heart Frontiers Program (AHFP) funded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF). The successful candidate will work within the Biorheology Research Laboratory at the Gold Coast campus of Griffith University and contribute to the delivery of this multidisciplined research project. The AHFP is a multi-institution partnership between academia and industry, has secured investment from the MRFF to develop artificial hearts and related technologies. We have teamed with leading academic, healthcare and industry partners to launch a new program to develop the world’s most advanced artificial heart, and the next generation of cardiovascular technology to support all patients with heart failure. Griffith University’s involvement is led by the Director of the Biorheology Research Laboratory, Professor Michael Simmonds, who is the Haemocompatibility Lead and serves the Executive Committee of the AHFP. Supported through a $50 million MRFF grant, the AHFP is expanding its research and commercialisation activities to help shape the future of heart failure treatment through innovative cardiovascular technologies. This is a full time, fixed term position until June 2028 primarily based at Griffith University Gold Coast campus.
