Electrical Design Engineer

Connexus Recruitment ¡ Posted today

Sutherland Area, Southern Sydney Adzuna Australia

About the role

Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) Location: Sutherland Shire Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 super bonus quick progression. Unique opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a Building Services Consultancy in the Sutherland Shire. Design it, see it installed, witness the testing, hand it over. Then step up to Senior. Clear path to Senior and hands on mentoring from a Chartered Director with 20 years with Tier 1 Consultancies Good work life balance, 8:30am to 5pm, no expectation to work overtime Opportunity to develop your skills in ASP3, design management and project management How many of your projects have you actually seen switched on? For most Electrical Building Services Design Engineers, the drawings go out, someone else installs them, and you hear how it went second-hand. Witnessing and commissioning always happen without you. Here, you're there for all of it and see projects from cradle to grave. Due to growth, I have a unique opporunity with a privately owned building services practice in the Shire that designs and oversees the installations for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and fire services. Here you'll work on complex healthcare, education and commercial projects, for a consultancy that is still small enough that your work is seen, appreciated and acknowledged every day. You'll work directly under the director, who spent over 20 years at tier one consultancies before building this practice and still does the engineering. Below you are two juniors which creates a path for you to Senior, with the chance to start guiding others well before the title arrives. Alongside Electrical Design, you'll pick up ASP3, design management and project management. That combination separates a rounded engineer from a package engineer. You'll regularly get out of the office to see how your designs are installed and built. Ask any senior engineer and they'll tell you that's where the real learning happens. The hours are 8:30am to 5pm, with no expectation of overtime. One honest note, with a director and a couple of Juniors and Graduates there's no one in the middle to hand things off to. So you'll own your work from day one and will be expected to be able to desig and lead most elements of a project with little supervision. If you'd rather stay in one lane, staying in a larger consultancy will suit you better. If however, you want the whole picture, a lot of autonomy, and clear progression, this is a rare opportunity to get it. Here you'll see your projects through all stages of design, through to installation, witnessing & commissioning and then to handover. In order to be considered, you'll need at least three years' building services electrical design experience, ideally some experience with ASP3 projects and be Permanent Resident of Australia; or an Australian Citizen. If you're happy in your current role but don't hav a CV that's OK. Just call me on 0483 958 465 or email [email protected] , and we'll work it out together.

Connexus Recruitment ¡ Posted 9 days ago

Miranda, Sutherland Area Adzuna Australia

About the role

Senior Electrical Design Engineer - To $150K Super Profit Share Tired of working for a large corporate company? Want to work for a multi-disciplinary consultancy where Friday afternoon means a bevy and a chat, shorts and t shirts are the norm and everyone shares the profit? Based in South Sydney, but easily accessible from the West or the Inner West, this consultancy has monthly socials (think go-karts, kayaking, mini-golf, trivia nights, to barefoot bowls) and the founding Directors all remain hands on. There are no timesheets, no office politics and every engineer gets to lead projects, and manage the fee themselves. CPD happens every Friday afternoon as someone will present a project they've just finished, a change in legislation, or software worth knowing. With around 50 engineers they are large enough to work on complex projects, but small enough that you won't just become a number. People who've joined from bigger firms all say the same thing, they like the relaxed and social environment; and the focus of staff development. Due to growth, they are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to work on interesting projects such as schools, mixed use developments, pubs, clubs and leisure centres and some light industrial developments. Most of these projects are multidisciplinary, so you'll work closely with the mechanical, hydraulic and structural engineers and come away understanding how a whole building fits together. You get autonomy early, you'll own your designs, build your own Revit models and do your lighting in DIALux. If CBD towers are what gets you going, look elsewhere. If you'd swap them for a short drive and a game of pool or ping pong or a swim at lunch, then this one is worth considering. And after twelve months, you're eligible for profit share. In order to be considered, you just need to be a client facing, electrical building services design engineer with at least 5 years experience; and be able to design and deliver a project with minimal supervision. If you are interested, just give me a call on 0483 958 465 or email me, you don't need a CV.

Introduction Senior RF Design Engineer | Australian Made Communications Technology Every day across Australia, GME technology is helping people stay connected, stay safe, and get home safely. From UHF CB radios trusted by four-wheel drivers, transport operators and emergency services, to emergency beacons that play a critical role in search and rescue operations, our products are designed, engineered and manufactured right here in Australia. For more than 65 years, GME has built a reputation for creating reliable communication and safety technology that performs in the harshest conditions. We're proudly Australian-owned and one of the few companies in our industry with end-to-end capabilities spanning research, design, engineering, testing and manufacturing. We're now looking for a Senior RF Design Engineer to join our Engineering team and help shape the next generation of communication and safety products used across Australia and beyond. Description Why this role is different This isn't a role where you'll be designing components that disappear into someone else's product. At GME, you'll work on complete RF design systems that make it into the hands of customers and are relied upon in real-world, mission-critical situations. You'll have the opportunity to: Design and develop RF solutions for market-leading communication and emergency beacon products Influence technical direction and product architecture Work closely with electronics, mechanical, firmware and manufacturing teams Take products from concept through to production Validate designs using dedicated RF test and development facilities Contribute to products that have a genuine impact on safety and rescue outcomes If you enjoy solving challenging RF problems and want to see your designs make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you. What you'll be doing As a Senior RF Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design, development and optimisation of RF circuits and systems for new and existing GME products. You'll: Design RF circuits including amplifiers, filters, mixers and oscillators Develop, simulate, analyse and optimise RF system performance Prototype, test and validate RF designs using industry-standard test equipment Lead RF design activities across the product development lifecycle Investigate complex technical issues and implement robust engineering solutions Support schematic capture, component selection and PCB design reviews Ensure designs meet regulatory, performance and manufacturing requirements Work closely with manufacturing teams to transition products successfully into production Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver projects on time and to specification Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives Skills And Experiences What we're looking for We're interested in engineers who are passionate about RF design and enjoy creating products that solve real-world problems. You'll bring: Essential Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline Extensive experience designing and developing RF circuits and systems Strong knowledge of RF amplifiers, filters, oscillators, mixers and associated design principles Experience with RF simulation and design tools such as ADS, LTspice and Altium Hands-on experience with PCB design, prototyping, bring-up and validation Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills Experience using RF test equipment including spectrum analysers, signal generators, oscilloscopes and power meters Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government NV1 Security Clearance Highly regarded Experience developing communication or radio-based products Knowledge of analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuit design Experience with radio modulation techniques including AM, FM and digital radio technologies Experience working within ISO9001, AS9100 or similar quality environments Experience supporting products from concept through manufacturing and production release Join us At GME, engineering sits at the heart of what we do.
