Our Client Our client is a major NSW Government department delivering essential public services, regulatory functions and digital transformation initiatives across New South Wales. Operating within a large and complex government environment, the organisation supports a broad range of digital platforms and enterprise technology systems designed to improve service accessibility, operational efficiency and customer experience. The department continues to invest in modernising its digital capabilities, including enterprise service management, workflow automation and integrated technology solutions. Its established technology teams work collaboratively to deliver meaningful improvements for government employees, businesses and the wider NSW community. Why Contract With Us At Charter Diligence, we go beyond just placement — we support our contractors with practical benefits that reflect real-life needs. All contractors engaged through us have access to early cash advances on approved timesheets, offering flexibility in cases of unforeseen expenses or cash flow challenges. Well, ask around if they’re already a Charter Diligence Contractor — chances are, they’re already benefiting from the support we provide. About the Role We are seeking a highly capable Senior ServiceNow Developer to join an established NSW Government technology team supporting ongoing platform enhancements, enterprise integrations and a significant pipeline of digital improvement initiatives. Reporting to the ServiceNow Platform Manager, you will work alongside experienced developers, business analysts, testers and solution architects to deliver practical, scalable and high-quality ServiceNow solutions. This is a predominantly hands-on development position requiring someone who can independently manage technical requirements, contribute to high-level solution designs, build and test solutions, and support their successful deployment into production. The platform supports multiple ServiceNow modules, including IT Service Management (ITSM), Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD) and Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) . You will contribute to a substantial backlog of enhancements and platform improvements, including service catalogue development, workflow automation, asset-related functionality, email integrations and connectivity with third-party enterprise applications. A key focus will be supporting ongoing platform uplift initiatives and improving the overall experience for users across the organisation. This role is ideal for an experienced ServiceNow developer who enjoys taking ownership of technical delivery, working through complex development challenges and collaborating with solution architects to deliver effective business outcomes. Contract Details Position: Senior ServiceNow Developer Daily Rate: Up to $1,070 super Location: Sydney CBD NSW Contract Duration: 6 months Start Date: ASAP Key Responsibilities Design, develop, configure and enhance ServiceNow applications and platform functionality across ITSM, HRSD and other supported modules. Take ownership of development activities from initial business requirements through solution design, build, testing, deployment and production support. Collaborate with solution architects to prepare high-level technical designs and develop scalable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards. Develop and enhance ServiceNow Service Catalogue items, request fulfilment processes, workflows and automated service delivery capabilities. Build and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and third-party enterprise applications using REST APIs and other integration technologies. Implement email integrations, notification processes, workflow improvements and automation solutions to streamline business operations. Configure and customise ServiceNow components, including Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies and Flow Designer workflows. Deliver platform enhancements ranging from straightforward configuration changes to complex application development and system integrations. Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. Support ongoing platform uplift initiatives and contribute to reducing the existing backlog of development and enhancement requests. Develop and implement solutions supporting ITSM processes, HRSD capabilities and other enterprise service management functions. Perform unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), defect resolution and support user acceptance testing (UAT). Manage technical release activities, change implementation and deployment of approved solutions into production environments. Investigate and resolve complex application issues, integration failures and platform performance challenges. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, solution designs, configuration records and deployment instructions. Work collaboratively with developers, testers, architects and business stakeholders to manage dependencies and deliver agreed outcomes. Provide technical advice, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the delivery of reliable, maintainable ServiceNow solutions.
