SMA Australia Pty Ltd is looking for a Senior Service Engineer – Large Scale Utility Projects. The position is full time and based in North Sydney. The Senior Service Engineer – Large Scale Utility Projects will be responsible for supplying troubleshooting support to the Field Service Technicians and supporting SMA’s Large-scale Customers to achieve their hold point requirements. The Senior Service Engineer – Large Scale Utility Projects is the interface between Australia local service functions and HQ for the resolution of complex technical issues and where required supports in the correct application and technical specification of SMA Large Scale solutions. The tasks of this role include the following: Provide electrical engineering support to SMAs utility-scale customers during hold-point tests; Install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot solar central inverters, plant controllers, string inverters, and BESS systems across utility-scale projects. Conduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) of plant Energy Management Systems (EMS) for utility-scale PV and BESS projects, ensuring compliance with grid connection requirements; Interpret specifications, drawings, standards and regulations relating to electric power equipment and use Analyse and process engineering data from utility inverters, plant controllers, DC converters, and utility solar farms; Conduct a variety of electrical measurements during troubleshooting of systems and hold-point tests; Initiate escalation process of technical issues to HQ including tickets; Create technical electrical engineering reports for internal and external stakeholders Provide technical training to internal stakeholders and local teams; Skills and experience required for the position: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; At least 10 years' experience in electrical engineering positions including supervisory or management experience with customer and client interaction; Experience as an electrical engineer in the large-scale utility sector is essential; Advanced understanding of PV and BESS Systems including plant controller, inverters, medium voltage equipment and communication; Competent and knowledgeable in the use of measurement tools and software (oscilloscope, power analyser, Wireshark, etc); Attention to detail and high level of accuracy; Ability to analyse and solve problems effectively; Experience working within a large multinational company would be ideal. • Fri, 04 Sep • SMA Australia | Electrician » Windaroo, Logan Area - All Orbits, All Planets - Join us on our journey Gilmour Space is the leading Australian rocket company, pioneering next-generation hybrid propulsion technologies for small satellite launch vehicles. Coordinate with external electrical contractors and service providers where specialist support is required. Assist with the development and implementation of preventative maintenance schedules for electrical assets. Maintain appropriate electrical tools, equipment, consumables and spare parts. Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives relating to electrical systems and infrastructure. Participate in workplace inspections, risk assessments, toolbox meetings and safety initiatives. Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment. Identify opportunities to improve the safety, reliability, efficiency and sustainability of electrical systems and facilities.
