Doctor in Training Medical Adviser » Sydney, Sydney Region - About the Role Doctor in Training (DIT) Medical Adviser will be based within Avant's Medical Indemnity Division but will work across several Avant divisions to develop an understanding of Medico legal risk and provide medical input into complaints, claims, research and member education material. This role will also contribute to increasing Avant’s understanding of the professional needs of DIT’s. You will be rostered regular days and hours to complete the duties of the role taking account of ongoing clinical duties and requirements of Avant and will need to be able to commit to two days per week. This is a 12 month contract on a part-time basis (2 days a week). The principal purposes of the position are to: • Provide medical advice and clinical input to the Claims Department and Medico Legal Advisory Service• Increase awareness and understanding of medicolegal and safety and quality issues amongst DITs• Provide ongoing research and education to members, staff and external stakeholders via Avant’s business units• Help develop resources and risk management strategies to improve the safety and reduce risk to patients and their doctors• Participate in special projects and initiatives, as required. About the role We are looking for a Site Enrolment & Engagement Lead to support clinical research sites with patient recruitment, retention and study-specific education. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants exposure to clinical research, and enjoys working closely with sites and healthcare professionals to improve trial delivery. In this role, you will work in partnership with research sites, investigators and internal teams, acting as a trusted point of contact for trial-related education, site engagement and recruitment support. As you build experience, your responsibilities and level of autonomy will grow. This role can be based anywhere in Australia and is a 12 months contract position, and renewal or conversion is dependent on business needs. Please apply only if you are comfortable. What you'll be doing: Partnering with clinical research sites to develop study-specific action plans that support patient recruitment, retention and study delivery Providing education and training to healthcare professionals and site staff on clinical trial protocols, procedures and study requirements Supporting study-specific training needs, helping sites understand and implement trial processes effectively Identifying and helping address recruitment and retention barriers, sharing best practice and practical solutions Working with referral networks where appropriate to help identify potential trial participants In some studies, interacting directly with patients to provide education on the trial, disease area, or device/medication (where required and appropriate) Analysing site activity and engagement data to help tailor strategies that maximise pre-screening, screening and enrolment Accurately completing internal reporting and documentation Organising or supporting group meetings, site visits and educational sessions Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas and disease states Managing queries or objections from site staff in a professional, solution-focused way Looking after company equipment and following all compliance and safety requirements About you: A bachelor's degree in health sciences or a related field Active license or credential in one of the following: MD - Medical Doctor DO - Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine RN - Registered Nurse NP - Nurse Practitioner PA - Physician Assistant Pharmacist - RPh or PharmD Occupational Therapist Physical Therapist Respiratory Therapist Experience in a Clinical Trial Educator / Site Engagement & Enrolment position or similar role within clinical research / studies Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly A collaborative, customer-focused mindset and a genuine interest in clinical research The ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for support Good organisational skills and attention to detail A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving Flexibility to travel as required for site visits Cultural awareness, empathy and professionalism when working with diverse patients and site teams Why join us?
